Top 5 Songs on Slime Language 2
Young Thug has been one of the most consistent rappers this decade, though sometimes it feels like he rarely tries new things, we can always count on him to deliver good tracks and feature-packed albums. He puts on new artists every album and has no problem letting them shine on his tracks. That’s probably one of the reasons why his features always come out great and don’t feel forced. It may be a month late but here are my top 5 songs on Slime Language 2, in no particular order.
Moon Man (feat. Strick & Kid Cudi)
Strick is an artist I am hearing for the first time on this album and he left a great first impression on me. His flow on this song was immaculate, he goes from bar to bar effortlessly flowing like leaves in the wind. It’s only fitting that we have the original Moon Man on this track. The transition to Cudi’s verse was amazing too, Cudi killed his verse and brought his Moon Man aura to the track. I didn’t know I needed this pair on a track together but I’m glad I got it.
WokStar(feat. Strick & Skepta)
Strick is on this list again and for good reason. He reminds me of 21 Savage a lot on this song because of his flow. Skepta comes in with a verse in his classic style reminiscent of Greaze Mode. I wasn’t expecting Skepta on this Thugger album but I am definitely here for it and think he fits in well.
I Like (feat. Karlae & Coi Leray)
Prior to this album, I had never heard of Karle or Coi Leray before, but safe to say I was not disappointed by this song. It has a catchy beat produced by C Gutta with a verse that Coi Leray killed. Float like a butterfly sting like a bee, this track was definitely an eye-opener for some new artists.
Came and Saw (Feat Rowdy Rebel)
Rowdy Rebel comes hard and fast on this song, the chorus is great and memorable. Rowdy Rebel’s verse goes just as hard and it draws out a similar style verse from Young Thug as well. An easy addition to anyone’s get hype playlist, this is definitely going in my rotation mix.
Paid the Fine (feat. Lil Baby & YTB Trench)
This song didn’t have the same upbeat vibes as the other songs on the album but I think it fits Lil Baby and his style of music perfectly. Lil baby is no foreign to these types of beats and he does his usual spitting on the track. The back and forth between Young Thug and Lil Baby was also a nice touch. No one on this track let up on the heat and all the verses stood out to me.
Final Thoughts
Overall I would say Slime Language 2 wasn’t as good as So Much Fun, but it still has some songs that deserve a spot on your daily rotation. Stay slimy
